Here’s To Forgetting

Here we go, he just parked…

Getting out… door shut, boom! How many is that?!

Two in a row. Okay…3…2…1…

See ya losers!

You still forget me

It’s been a year

I’m in the center console

With your sunglasses

You don’t forget those

But you forget me

There’s plenty more on your side doors

But you pick me when you come back for one

Stashed away, the other masks they envy me

They’re white and blue but I just match

I’m black and grey and that’s your style

We still make bets that you’ll forget

You still need a mask to go inside

I get it though, I’m temporary

It’s not forever, just a precaution

Then I’ll be gone, you won’t need me

I’ll miss adventures at the grocery store

Indoors at the few places you went all year

It’s been my year, I know you like me

But this won’t last, to 2020 here’s to us masks

I won’t forget you, even though you have

But you always come back

Cause they won’t let you inside

Here’s to forgetting what we once had

I’ll always remember our indoors time
